I am a Registered Nurse and the Diabetes Education Coordinator for Orange City Area Health System.
In addition to my professional qualifications, I have been living with Type 1 Diabetes for 16 years, and have been pumping insulin for 8 years. 8 with Minimed and since January I have been pumping untethered with Omnipod. I am also a Dexcom 7 user.I can train patients on Minimed or Omnipod pumps, as well as Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems. Diabetes Education isn't just a job for me, it's something I feel very passionate about, teaching other people with diabetes how to live long, healthy lives while not compromising who you are! I have diabetes, but first I am a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Photographer, and much more.

My first endocrinologist was a type 1 herself, and through her the seed of interest was sown. One of my goals is to help others live as "normal" a life as she and her team taught me that I could. That I could have my cake AND eat it too (only of course, if I counted those carbs)!
